OEE dashboard · Malaysia

OEE dashboards for Malaysian factories.

A live view of how every line is actually performing — and why it's not. Real-time availability, performance, quality. Downtime reasons logged automatically. The Industry 4.0 foundation most SMB factories should start with, with automation and AI ready to layer on top.

What OEE is

One number that tells you the truth about a line

OEE — Overall Equipment Effectiveness — multiplies three things: availability, performance, and quality. World-class is around 85%. Most SMB factories that aren't measuring it are between 30% and 60% — and don't know it.

Availability
Was it running when it should have been?

Planned uptime minus unplanned stops. Includes everything from a 5-minute material-feed pause to a 4-hour breakdown.

Performance
Was it running at full speed?

Actual cycle rate vs. design rate. Catches the slow-creep where a machine is technically running but producing 70% of what it could.

Quality
Was the output usable?

Good units divided by total units. Captures rework, scrap, and first-pass yield without anyone needing to keep a separate spreadsheet.

On the screen

What an OEE dashboard actually shows

Live OEE per line, per shift
A and P and Q broken out separately so you know which one is hurting you most.
Downtime reasons
Auto-categorized where possible, supervisor-tagged where not. Build a real Pareto chart of what's stopping production.
Phone-friendly
Owners check from the carpark, supervisors check on the floor, head office checks from KL. Same data, all surfaces.
Smart alerts
Downtime over a threshold, OEE below a benchmark, quality drift — pinged to WhatsApp or email automatically.
Trend analytics
Shift comparisons, day-of-week patterns, machine-by-machine ranking. Spot the slow drift, not just the loud breakdowns.
Maintenance hooks
Hours-since-last-PM, downtime-driven work orders. Optional CMMS layer for the team that wants it.

Pricing & timeline

What an SMB OEE engagement looks like

First line
4–10 weeks · low-to-mid 5-figure MYR

Sensors retrofitted, dashboard live, alerts wired up, supervisor and head office trained on it. Final price scoped after a free discovery call.

Each additional line
Materially cheaper per line

Most of the build cost is the first line. Adding lines two, three, and beyond reuses the same dashboard, alerting, and analytics — typically a fraction of the first-line build.

FAQ

Common questions about OEE dashboards

What is OEE in plain English?

OEE — Overall Equipment Effectiveness — is one number that tells you how productive a machine actually is. It multiplies three things: availability (was it running when it was supposed to be?), performance (was it running at full speed?), and quality (was the output usable?). World-class OEE is around 85%. Most SMB factories that aren't measuring it are sitting somewhere between 30% and 60% — and don't know it.

Why measure OEE at all?

Because the gap between what your machines could produce and what they actually produce is almost always bigger than people expect, and the reasons usually surprise the owner. OEE makes the gap visible and assignable: micro-stoppages, slow ramp-ups, quality scrap, unplanned downtime — each gets its own line in the dashboard, with timestamps.

Do I need new machines or sensors?

Often no. We retrofit cycle counters, machine-state sensors, and key process variables onto whatever you already have — Advantech, Siemens, Mitsubishi PLCs, even older standalone equipment with a small sensor add-on. Industry4WRD-friendly approach.

How long until the OEE dashboard is live?

First useful screen: usually 4–6 weeks for one line. Full OEE with downtime reasons, shift comparison, trend analytics: usually 6–10 weeks. We tune in production with real data after launch.

What does an OEE dashboard cost in Malaysia?

Most of our SMB OEE engagements start in the low- to mid-five-figure MYR range, scoped to one line. Adding more lines is typically cheaper per line — most of the cost is the first-line build. We scope a fixed price after a free discovery call.

Does this connect to my ERP / MES / accounting?

Yes. OEE data is most useful when it flows into other places — production planning, maintenance scheduling, costing, monthly reports. We integrate with whatever you have or build a small layer in front of it.

Can AI add value on top of OEE?

Yes. Once OEE data is flowing, predictive maintenance models can spot failure signals before downtime hits. Anomaly detection flags shifts that produced unusual quality or performance numbers. ML forecasting can use OEE history to plan production capacity. The dashboard is the foundation; the AI compounds it.
